Wash Care
Susu Mama World Wear
Many of the Susu Mama garments are manufactured in small batches without the use of harsh chemical fixers and are dyed in very intense colours. Consequently, the garments are not necessarily colourfast and should not be washed in a regular wash before colourfastness testing is done.
We have included some colourfastness information online, but we strongly recommend that you perform your own tests with your particular detergent and water temperature first.
We recommend that you first soak the garment in salty water to help set the dye, and hand wash each item separately in weak detergent. For some garments, the colour will cease running after a few washes, and it will then be safe to put in a regular wash with other coloured garments. For other garments, a small amount of colour will always seep out, and it will only be possible to wash the item separately or with black garments.
HOPE Fair Fashion
The garments from the HOPE line are tagged with the recommendation that you wash them separately in cold water. For those that I have tested, I could not discern any colour loss, however I recommend that you test your particular detergent first, by doing a separate cold hand wash, before mixing it with other garments.
